Porta Pia.The Gate to Rome
The Bersaglieri attacked Rome during the war of Independence to stifle Vatican power in the region.The fanatical Zouaves of the Pope fought back with fury but the finest moment of the Bersaglieri was the breach in the wall at Porta Pia. This was their moment of undying glory.Dulcop brought out a nice set of Bersaglieri pictured below.They are rarer than rare if E.bay is anything to go by,I painted my set up but lack just one of the four.The metal figure of the Bersaglieri below is a moment at the breach.Superb model.
